MasterCard policy change!

IMPORTANT! Big changes coming soon....

On the 13th April Mastercard announced in a press release that they will now require "clear, unambiguous and documented consent" for content on all of the platforms using them as a payment processor. So what does this mean for adult content creators and websites?

These strict enforcements are coming in force on the 15th Ocotober 2021. These purposed changes are going to have a big impact on everyone from adult site/platform owners, all the way through to uploaders and the buyers of content on fan sites like OnlyFans, ManyVids, Frisk and the like. These combative changes will also enforce those who run, or manage their own personal adult websites are strictly obeying to Mastercard's new rules.

Mastercard will be enforcing their new streaming and downloadable content policies are followed; This could mean Mastercard may require all adult content creators must update their model release documents to adhere to these policy changes. Failure to comply could mean loss of your ability to use Mastercard as a payment processor. Mastercard have also listed other requirements:-

From Mastercards blog post (find link below at the end) "documented age and identity verification for all people depicted and those uploading the content; content review process prior to publication; complaint resolution process that addresses illegal or nonconsensual content within seven business days; and appeals process allowing for any person depicted to request their content be removed."

John Verdeschi, Mastercard senior vice president of customer engagement and performance, also wrote. "The banks that connect merchants to our network will need to certify that the seller of adult content has effective controls in place to monitor, block and, where necessary, take down all illegal content,"

All of these changes are coming about following the claims about sex trafficking on Porn Hub from a New York Times article which was written by Nicolas Kristoff. This has been used by anti-porn activists like Exodus Cry, NCOSE and TraffickingHub to further their movement against the adult industry to erradicate porn. But, they won't just stop at adult porn sites, I perdict these changes will also impact amazon, Twitter (tip jar), Etsy, NetFlix and many other streaming and social platforms. This is just an example of the discrimination fears sex workers, adult content creators, site owners and porn enthusiasts face every day.

I'll be following this very closely and be keeping you up date with anymore important information. Make sure you follow me here and on twitter @epiphany666cb to keep informed with adult indusrty news and updates. Feel free to DM me if you have been affected by any of the changes made on porn hub, or if you ever other concerns you want to share or discuss. Stay safe out there everyone! Big love Epiphany Jones.

UK Adult Producers 3 년

Thank you for this Epiphany. Producers who have adhered to 2257 compliance are more likely to have an easy time with this transition however the problem might be "the right to remove content" is likely to bring conflict when producers have paid to own the content according to the wording in the contract signed by the model/ performer(s) usually includes all broadcast rights "in perpetuity"
